Meredith Nicholson, founding member, received her JD from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law in December 1999 and was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in March 2000.  She worked for Legal Aid helping low-income clients with family law and disability issues before accepting a position as project manager for a death penalty research study with UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law Dean John Boger.  She then worked as a criminal defense associate with Kurtz & Blum for eight years and represented clients in Wake, Durham, Chatham and Orange counties on misdemeanor and felony charges.


Meredith is a member of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys and past president of the Durham Orange Women Attorneys chapter.  She is also past president of the Latino Affairs Committee at the North Carolina Bar Association and has been invited to speak on Hispanic criminal defense issues at CLE's and on radio and television programs devoted to Latino outreach.  She currently serves on the executive board of the Women's Birth and Wellness Center in Chapel Hill.


She co-authored a Spanish-English legal dictionary, Critical Terms in Legal Proceedings, published by the North Carolina Bar Association.  She has also been a guest lecturer at the North Carolina Central University School of Law on domestic violence defense and has served as a NITA (National Institute of Trial Advocacy) instructor in Mexico.

Milan T. Pham, founding member, received her JD from UNC Chapel Hill School of Law in May 1999 and was admitted to the Maryland State Bar in September 1999 and to the North Carolina State Bar in March 2001.  She worked for Americans for a Fair Chance, a consortium of six national legal civil rights agencies, in developing the southern strategy to preserve affirmative action.  Upon graduating she accepted a civil rights position at the Orange County Human Rights & Relations Department, where she became the department Director in November of 2003. In the Human Rights & Relations Department, she focused on housing and employment discrimination related matters until 2007 when she left to become the founding Director of North Carolina Lawyers for Entrepreneurs Assistance Program (NC LEAP) of the North Carolina Bar Association Foundation.  In addition, since 2001, she has worked with private business and non-profit clients on transactional matters through her private practice. 

Milan is an active member of the American Bar Association Business Law Section. She is a Friday Fellow, a board member of North Carolina Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning (NC REAL), the Seigle Avenue Community Development Corporation and is a founding member of the Triangle Chapter of the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE).

Milan speaks Vietnamese and some Spanish.

Blanca prides herself in providing unparalleled legal service and in giving our clients the attention necessary to accommodate their legal needs.  Blanca’s past legal experience includes the areas of criminal defense and traffic law.  She has an extensive background in working with clients in the mortgage industry where she has over six years of experience in management, marketing and sales.  Working one-on-one with individual clients is one of the many reasons she enjoys being part of the NicholsonPham team. 


Blanca concentrates
on keeping clients well-informed throughout the handling of their case.  Her responsibilities cover all practice areas handled by the firm including preparation of correspondence, opening, preparing, organizing and maintaining client files, reviewing court docket information and conducting internet searches for information.  

Blanca speaks Spanish and some Portuguese.
